Tommy & Letter From Heaven

A Letter From Heaven.
To my friends and dearest family, some things I`d like to say, but first of all to let you know that I arrived ok.
I`m writing this from heaven where I dwell with God above. Where there`s no tears or sadness there is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I`m out of sight. Remember that I`m always with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me, and he said `I welcome you`. `Its good to have you back again, you were missed when you were gone. As for your friends and family, they`ll be here later on. I need you here so badly, as part of my big plan. There`s so much we have to do to help our mortal man`
Then God gave me a list of things he wanted me to do and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you.
And I will be beside you, everyday, week and year. And when you`re sad, I`m standing there to wipe away the tear.
And when you lie in bed tonight, the day`s chores put to flight, God and I are closer to you in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth and all those living years, because you are only human they are bound to bring some tears.
But do not be afraid to cry it does relieve the pain. Remember there should be no more flowers unless there was some rain.
I wish I could tell you of all that God has planned, but if I was to tell you you wouldn`t understand.
But one thing is for certain though my life on earth is over, I am closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb, but together we can do it taking one step at a time.
When you are walking down the street and you`ve got me on your mind, I`m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when you feel the gentle breeze, or the wind upon your face, thats me giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace.
And when it`s time for you to go from that body to be free, remember you are not going, you are coming back to me.
And I will always love you from that land way up above. Will be in touch again soon.
P.S. God sends his love.

Broken Dreams

Broken Dreams

As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend
I brought my broken dreams to God
because He is my friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him
in peace to work alone
I hung around and tried to help
with ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "What could I do...
you never did let go."

Poem by unknown

If I be the first of us to die
Let grief not blacken long your sky
Be bold yet modest in your grieving
There is change but not a leaving
For just as death is part of life
The dead live on forever in the living
For all the gathered riches of our journey
The moments shared, the mysteries explored
The steady layer of intimacy stored,
The things that made us laugh or weep or sing
The joy of sunlit snow or first unfurling of the spring
The wordless language of look and touch
The knowing
Each giving and each taking
These are not flowers that fade
Nor trees that fall and crumble
Nor are they stone
For even stone cannot the wind and rain withstand
And mighty mountain peaks in time reduce to sand
What we were, we are
What we had, we have
A conjoined past imperishably present.
So when you walk the woods where once we walked together
And scan in vain the dappled bank beside you for my shadow
Or pause where we always did upon the hill to gaze across the land
And spotting something, reach by habit for my hand
And finding none, feel sorrow start to steal upon you
Be still
Close your eyes
Breathe
Listen for my footfall in your heart
I am not gone but merely walk within you. author unknown
